The Newsletter for the Informed Slater Parent
It's Beginning to Look Alot like Winter!!
The Pre-K and Kindergarten teams are some of the first groups to update their boards and walls to reflect the cold weather that Winter has brought with it. The pictures above show some of the eye-catching art that is displayed for showcasing student work. Our staff has noticed the great artistic displays, along with the students and parents. As you walk through the halls, you see students using their eyes and hands to demonstrate appreciation for the work that our dedicated teachers use to display student work!.
The Poetry Slam was a Poetry Jam!!
Ms. DeVeaux, and the Fourth Grade team closed out a poetry unit this week by allowing the students to take part in a Poetry Slam. The poetry slam welcomed parents, faculty, staff , and the entire fourth grade class to take part in poetry, dance, and song performances. The program featured students of varying skills who wanted to put their skills on display for others to see. The poems that were featured came from Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, and Shell Silverstein.
