Week 6-7: #pstpln Twitter Challenge
EDCI318 Tech for Teaching & Learning-SPRING 2019
#PSTPLN Twitter challenge
I discovered this Twitter challenge from Susan Poyo (Franciscan University) from one of the ISTE listserves I subscribe to through my membership. https://twitter.com/spoyoISTE is the International Society for Technology in Education and is responsible for all things technology in Education and the Technology Standards you will have to meet as a teacher for yourself and your students. Check out the standards: https://www.iste.org/standards
Dr. Poyo's challenge with her pre-service teachers took place in the;last few weeks. However, we are doing this overthe next 2 weeks beginning Week 6- Feb 25 and ending Week 7-March 10. You will also see students from other preservice classes from around the nation participating. You must complete all the challenges.
Dr. Poyo Said.......
Welcome! This Twitter Challenge is an extension of the work of @SFecich (Grove City College-https://www.sfecich.com) and @conniehamilton (K-12 curriculum director for Saranac Community Schools). You should follow them, this project is designed to help show my students, preservice teachers (PST), the power of a PLN (Personal Learning Network). We have participated in this for several semesters now and the collaboration and communication of this activity has changed both attitudes and skills of these future teachers by connecting them with educators on a professional level. Please spread the word and thank you for joining us!
So we are joining them and everyone else participating. I sure wish I had had a PLN when I began teaching many, many years ago.
Read through all the Challenges and this entire document before you begin!!
Check out what has been happening so far with this challenge by checking out the hashtag #pstpln!!
Prior to the challenge and during the 5 challenges
The purpose of this challenge is to see how powerful Twitter is for a positive, professional digital presence.
Make sure you include our class hashtag #edtechksu along with the #pstpln in all your tweets from these challenges and screenshot your tweets for evidence.
Since there are so many of you, this is a tough one to grade (150+), so I am asking you to screenshot each of your challenges as you do it and when you have done all the challenges, put the sceeenshots together into a Keynote presentation and export it as a PDF, then upload to Seesaw as a file.
One slide for each challenge, make sure you title them with the challenge name and number and add any details/explanations when necessary.
