HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 6 - 2 June
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our School Business Directory is a project spearheaded by Mark Nolan who is on our P&F Executive. The Directory has generated a lot of interest from others who are also in business. Each week you will find a link to the Directory in the newsletter, and a profile of one of our families whose business is in the Directory. Our P&F are to be congratulated on supporting this great community initiative. Do check it out!
Today our Year Six students were on retreat focusing on the Sacrament of Confirmation which whey will be receiving soon. Please keep them and their families in your prayers.
Have a great long weekend! See you on Tuesday.

For extended absences (i.e. holiday) you need to fill out a Student Leave of Absence Form which will be passed on to the Principal for him to approve. These can be found in the School Office.

Students and visitors are asked to enter their details on an Ipad when they arrive/depart from School. The Ipad will be kept in the front office. THE FAMILY BUSINESSES OF HOLY ROSARY
GET TO KNOW US!
We are super excited to introduce the families of the businesses behind Holy Rosary. The P&F Committee has put together a Business Directory of school families and encourage everyone to use them. These businesses aim to support the P&F committee in the various projects they undertake.
GET TO KNOW MIKE
What do you do?
I’m Partner in a national firm providing executive search services to corporate enterprise. Our clients range across private, listed and government enterprise where our focus is on identifying talent for Board and key management team positions.
Why Did You Choose Your Profession?
I fell into it accidentally and was propositioned as a candidate interacting with a recruitment firm. This is a very common way for people to enter the industry.
What was your favourite age at school and why?
Year 10 – the combination of being close enough to the peak of the school pyramid but also the time I remember all of my mates being around before some left for apprenticeships etc.
What is your perfect pizza?
I love the ‘Miliana’ from Monsterella in Wembley. Truffle oil, fennel & pork. It is amazing.
What cheers you up?
Hearing my boys laugh – so infectious and gets me every time, especially when they are laughing at each other. I wish I could bottle it!
Who is your hero?
Fred Hollows and everyone else doing similar selfless acts as their life mission.
What song will always get you on the dance floor?
Hey Ya by Outkast.
Tell us something may not know
My mum was an air hostess in the 60’s – we have as a very precious family heirloom… black and white photos of my mum posing with The Beatles in flight – in full 60’s hostess uniform. They are priceless.
What was the last book you read?
Red Notice by Bill Browder.
What is your favourite family tradition?
Always getting together for family birthdays and going away as an extended family unit for Christmas every so often.
Siena Centre Wine Fundraiser
Please support the Siena Centre to purchase some much needed resources.
From time to time specific resources are required for the children to achieve their goals. Special Education resources are usually very costly because there is less of a demand for them. Last year the Siena Centre was able to replace our laminator, we are continually laminating schedules, high interest word cards etc and many other visuals. We thank you for supporting this fundraiser in 2016.
This year would like to modernise our cause and effect toys as well as our fine motor equipment. A number of our children have complex communication needs, our talking switch devices need to be replaced due to constant use, they give the children who have limited voices a way to contribute to discussions. Once again this year we will allocate some of the money raised towards reading materials.
The rest of the funds, if there are any left, will be put towards a wheel chair swing that is going to be installed at a later time.
Please click HERE for Order form. All orders must be returned by 4pm on Monday 19 June and wine can be collected from outside the Library on Friday 23 June and Monday 26 June between 3:30 and 5:30pm.
