CPS #GoodNewsCalloftheDay
What is the #GoodNewsCalloftheDay
The #GoodNewsCalloftheDay is a hashtag used on Twitter to celebrate students doing the right thing and going above and beyond what is expected. It is used in hundreds of schools by hundreds of educators committed to building relationships with families through focusing on the positives.
Who makes the #GoodNewsCalloftheDay
Mrs. Bush will make at least one Good News call per day. Depending on nominations, that number could increase. Of course, we also encourage all of you to make Good News calls too, but we certainly don't expect you to do it every day (unless you want to). We also encourage you to share your Good News calls via Twitter! Please tag @central51 if you decide to participate!
Who Can nominate students for the Good News Call of the Day?
Any teachers, support staff, paraprofessionals, cafeteria staff, office staff, and custodial staff can nominate students for a Good News call!
How do we nominate a student for a Good News call?
I plan to put some Good News forms in your mailboxes on Tuesday, or feel free to complete this Google Form. Please return paper forms to my mailbox in the CPS office I will check the Google Form responses periodically throughout each day.
How do students earn a Good News call?
Here are just a few ways students may earn a Good News call:
- Displaying kindness to a friend(s)
- Showing leadership throughout the day in any setting
- Showing growth in academics (RtI included)
- Improved work ethic
- Mastering new skills after some difficulty
Please feel free to be creative!
Should I tell a student they have been nominated?
We would love for the student and their family to be surprised for their Good News call, so please keep it a secret. :)
When should I send a student I nominated to the office?
Mrs. Bush will either come get the student from class or call your classroom for the student.
