To new students, welcome to OFY - Hesperia 1 School Site. To returning students, welcome back!
Your teachers, School Counselor, and Career Pathways Coordinator will be connecting with you and/or providing you opportunities to connect with them so you can develop goals and a strong vision toward your success in your future here at OFY! As your Assistant Principal, I am confident all of you are going to reach new heights and challenge yourselves to be the best YOU that you can be! Please read over the dress code standards below. Students who violate dress code may be subject to the following:
1 - Warning & put on OFY Swag or turn clothing inside out, if necessary
2 - Parent call home and the above # 1
3 - Parent meeting scheduled with Teacher/Administration, student sent home and marked absent

GOOD HABITS MAKE GREAT STUDENTS - Start the new year STRONG!
Good Habit of the Month -
Time Management
- Make a weekly or daily to-do list
- Use a calendar or planner
- Get up early to get stuff done
- Reward yourself when tasks are complete
- Schedule your “me” time (so it doesn’t eat up study time)
- Read the syllabus/whiteboard and make plans from it
- Prioritize and schedule what you need to do – be realistic!
- Set aside study/class work hours each day
- Have a spot where all studying takes place
- Make or join a study group
Reading
- Read more than once
- Highlight and take notes
- Make margin notes
- Don’t put off reading assignments until the last minute!
- Review after reading
- Keep from dozing off: don’t read right before going to bed, and don’t read in bed
- Read and understand captions and figures
- Make a glossary of terms
- Pace yourself
- Pay attention to key concepts and end of chapter reviews

Graduation Progression
Students should be earning 6 credits per school month and 30 credits per semester!
Make sure your student is working on schoolwork 6 hours per day and 30 hours per week to stay on track!
Freshman: 0-59 credits
Sophomore: 60-119 credits
Junior: 120-179 credits
Senior: 180-230 credits
