From School Administration
June has arrived and with it comes the final few weeks of our 2021-2022 school year. When we pause briefly to think back, the year has been full of ups and downs, triumphs, and moments of frustration. As we welcomed our students back to school last September, we knew that this year would hold plenty of unknown opportunities. These past nine months certainly delivered in that regard, and we have so much to celebrate together in honoring our students, families, and CCES team. We thank you for your ongoing support and dedication. Together, we have accomplished more this year than we thought possible only one year ago. As a school, we are grateful for your partnership.
Below is our second-to-last update for the year. Our CCES Cougar Comments for this 2021-2022 school year will be published next Friday, June 10. This issue contained some closing information for this year and some new information to help you start planning for the 2022-2023 school year.
Mr. Cosentino, Principal
Indicators of Educational Equity Survey Results (Part 4 of 4)
Over the past four weeks, we shared the Indicators of Educational Equity Survey results with our school community. The data provided will help guide our programmatic planning for the coming year. Below, you will find the final section of the survey.
Engaged & Inspired Learners
According to the responses in the survey, our strongest response was question number 2a) "How well are we doing as a school in providing many ways for students to make school a positive place to be? and 2b) "How well are we doing as a school in providing many ways for STAFF to make school a positive place to be?"
Our highest area of concern for this indicator was question number 5) "How well are we doing as a school in letting people decide what their learning experience looks like?" 48% of the survey respondents shared we do extremely well or quite well in this area. At the same time, 19% of the respondents were not sure. This is another area where we can provide our school an opportunity to educate parents/families.
Again, thank you for your participation in the survey so we can help to make CCES an even better place for our students.
NEW INFORMATION
Chromebooks
Chromebook Summer Storage
HCPSS has been fortunate to have a 1:1 device ratio for most of our students. As we come to the end of the 2021-2022 school year, we will implement the following summer 2022 Chromebook storage and use process for specified grade levels.
Grades K-4
- Student Chromebooks will be stored at school over the summer. Each student’s assigned Chromebook will be returned to them for use during the 2022-2023 school year.
- Students will keep their Chromebooks over the summer and take them to their assigned middle school at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
All students participating in a HCPSS Summer Program, including Extended School Year ESY and ESY-RECC special education, may take their Chromebooks with them for the summer so that they can be used during their program. At the conclusion of HCPSS Summer Programs, students will keep their Chromebooks for the remainder of the summer and take them to their assigned school at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
Students not returning to HCPSS should return their Chromebook to their home school on or before the last day of school for students. Please look for additional information from your child’s homeroom teacher regarding end-of-year procedures for Chromebooks.
Dreambox Access
Student Technology Incident Invoices
Information from HCPSS: Soon families who have unpaid invoices for lost, stolen or damaged Chromebooks will receive reminder emails from MySchoolBucks [do-not-reply@myschoolbucks.com]. Families can pay electronically by logging in to their MySchoolBucks account or create an account by selecting Log in and then choosing Sign up today! Originally, families would have also received an email from [hcpss_notifications@hcpss.org] with additional information concerning the incident. Questions regarding the student technology incident questions can be directed to DeviceDeployment@hcpss.org and invoicing and/or payment procedure questions can be directed to Finance@hcpss.org .
2022-2023 School Year Calendar
CCES Google calendar, all of the school system dates have been added to that calendar. Additionally, as we plan dates of important events, those events will be added to that calendar too. We have already added Open House times and back-to-school nights to the calendar as well.
