Cougars Stay Connected!

Hello Robinson Families,

It was another busy week of teaching and learning with our Robinson Family. It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of second quarter this week. Our students and staff have done incredible things as we journey through the Distance Learning experience. Thank you to all of our families for the continued support in your child's education. Together, we can achieve great things!

At last Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting, the Board unanimously voted to remain in Distance Learning through Term 3, which ends on March 26. The Board has asked Dr. Keyser and the leadership team to provide a comprehensive plan for the start of Term 4, which begins on April 6. Dr. Keyser will provide updates to this plan on our Safe to Learn Website and in his weekly letters. As always, if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. McCarthy or Mrs. Kaminski.

There are some adjustments to the Meal Pick Up for the School District of Beloit. Please see the information below for details or check the School District of Beloit webpage.

Our January school theme is Just Be YOU! We want all of our students and families to know how special each of you are and how important it is to celebrate our uniqueness! There will be special quotes shared to highlight our special traits! Please look for some of the fun days we have planned in January! We are looking forward to our next assembly on January 26th!

As always, thank you for your efforts in keeping your child connected to teaching and learning. While we understand it is not always easy, the routine and connection to school is very important. If you are facing any challenges, please reach out to us for support. We know that we will be most successful when we work together for the students. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. McCarthy, Mrs. Kaminski, or your child's teacher to let us know if there is anything we might be able to help your family with during these times. Just a reminder that our Distance Learning instructional days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Our expectation is that your child is joining his/her class for daily instruction. We do take attendance daily and will follow the same expectations for attending as if we were in school. It is very important for your child to participate in the teaching and learning. Our teachers are working hard to provide a productive learning environment in the Distance Learning experience. We also understand that at times it may be difficult to attend during the live instructional time. Please contact your child's teacher or our main office if you are having any conflicts with joining the live sessions. If you were not able to join this week, please contact your child's teacher to get any missed information. The teachers will be leading important lessons in Math, Reading, and Social Studies. We also want to see you in Art, Music, Physical Education, and Library!

Important Reminders:

*SeeSaw will be our learning platform for Distance Learning.

*Attendance is taken daily. Students are expected to be present for instruction each instructional day.

*Traditional grading for school will be in place.

*Instruction between students and teachers will be provided four days a week. Instructional days will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesdays are dedicated to student and family work time and independent learning.

We look forward to seeing you soon! Thank you for your help in supporting the teaching and learning for your child.

Student Access to Teaching and Learning

During this Distance Learning experience, we are working to ensure the safety of each of our students. It is important that each student accesses Seesaw on their school issued device (iPad) for instruction. Each student has a unique email, username, and password. When an unfamiliar email or number attempts to access our learning platforms, we will not accept the attempt to join. Please know that this is done with the intention of maintaining the safety and security of each of our students. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or Mrs. McCarthy (bmccarthy@sdb.k12.wi.us or (608) 361-2810.

Beloit Proud!

On behalf of the Board of Education and the School District of Beloit we stand against all forms of systemic and institutional racism. Now more than ever it is necessary for our community’s institutions and organizations to commit to be anti-racist. We are proud of the diversity within the School District of Beloit and we acknowledge the challenges and adversity that so many of our families of color are facing. We are always committed to supporting our students, families, and staff. We are here for you and we are stronger together. #BeloitProud
