Principal's Message
Greetings Washington Families,
Welcome to another edition of The Washington Weekly! I hope you and your child(ren) will take a moment to express your gratitude during Love the Bus Week. Our dedicated bus drivers work tirelessly to ensure our students arrive safely to and from school each day, and this week, we extend our heartfelt thanks for their commitment to our school community.
I want to remind parents about our upcoming (THIS THURSDAY at 6:30pm) virtual and in-person session focused on supporting children with developing coping skills to navigate anxiety. It's crucial to equip our children with the tools they need to thrive, and we encourage all parents to participate in this session as they are able. The information to access the Google Meet for the virtual session is linked below.
As we continue to celebrate our school's remarkable 100th Year milestone, mark your calendars for our exciting Spirit Week festivities leading up to the grand celebration on 2/24/24. Read below for more details on how we'll honor this momentous occasion and join us in spreading the word!
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership as we strive to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. Together, we make Washington GT Magnet Elementary School great!
Let's make it a great week at 1000 Fayetteville Street!
Magically,
Catie Burnette
Principal

Anxious students may not be able to verbalize the specific cause of their anxiety; they just know they are experiencing excessive and ongoing worry and fear about something. They may avoid situations or activities in school. They may start to decline in academics and have trouble focusing and concentrating. This workshop will provide strategies for parents/caregivers to help their children cope with anxiety.
