Student Success

Thank you to all of the parents for your support during this first six weeks. The students have done a great job both with their academics and their behavior.

As a campus, we have embraced CHAMPs this year, which is a classroom management strategy to help students understand the expectations in the class, cafeteria, and hallways. The students have done a great job meeting our expectations for their behavior.

We are also a campus that is focused on AVID best practices. AVID is a college readiness system that teaches students organizational and study strategies to help them be successful. One thing that all of our students are doing is organizing their classwork in a binder. Each night, the students should go through their binder and review what they did in each class that day. The students have done a great job organizing their binders, and I'm sure they would love to show them to you!

Catching Up With Dr. Klaerner

I wanted to share with you the mission statement that the faculty developed for our campus this year:

Through collaboration and continuous improvement practices, we will engage students in rigorous learning with a foundation of positive relationships and student responsibility.

We are committed to working together to ensure that your students are learning at high levels, and they are also learning to take responsibility for their own success. We work everyday to build positive relationships with our students, and we want to have positive relationships with the parents as well. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child's teacher, assistant principal, or myself, and we will do everything we can to make sure your child has a successful school year!

Thank you for your continued support! Please follow us on Facebook or Twitter for more information about the great things going on at North Oaks!
