Massacre in Tienanmen Square

Started in 1989. Several hundred civilians have been shot dead by the Chinese army during a bloody military operation to crush a democratic protest. The Tienanmen Square massacre occurred as a result of student-initiated demand for a social reform to bring better employment conditions and opportunities for the working class. The people were asking for Democratic reform. Millions of people were killed. George Bush was the president at the time of this. He said he deeply deplored the use of force, and UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said she was "shocked and appalled by the shootings".
