CMS XC Hosts First Meet of the 2021 Season

The CMS Cross Country Team is hosting its first league meet this Tuesday, September 14th. The coaches will put out cones blocking both ends of Yellow Jacket Drive -- the road to the 5th and 6th Grade Buildings -- at 3:20 when car line should be clear.

CMS car riders who have not been picked up by 3:15 will be brought to the main office so that coaches can SAFELY close off the course for runners. Please do not do what some families did last year and attempt to drive through the course . . . FROM EITHER END OF THE ROAD. Also, please be aware that if you are driving through the area between 3:20 and 4:30, there may be runners near the road. Please drive safely. Thank you for your assistance as we host our first meet of the year!

5th & 6th Grade Math Team Begins / 7th & 8th Grade Science Olympiad Interest Meeting This Week

Corner Middle School 5th and 6th Grade Math Team coach, Kassidy Tavel, would like to remind students interested in participating in Math Team competition, that practice begins on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 3:00. The team will practice in her classroom until 4:30. Students should be picked up in front of the 6th grade building by the long awning.

Also, there will be an interest meeting during advisory on Wednesday, September 15th in the cafeteria for any 7th and 8th grade students interested in participating in Science Olympiad. Come to the cafeteria at the very beginning of the period. Students will return to their advisory classes at the end of the meeting.

Progress Reports to be Distributed Districtwide on September 16th

Jefcoed district leaders announced last week that progress reports scheduled to be distributed on September 9, 2021, would be delayed a week while continued updates are being made to Power School at the local and state level. Student progress reports will be sent home to CMS families on September 16, 2021, by their students. Please be looking for them on Thursday afternoon.

The district opened the Power School Parent Portal on September 9, 2021. This long-awaited tool gives families the opportunity to view student academic progress and other data via their home computers or cell phone. Information on setting up access was sent home last week and in a Weekly Buzz Update. If you are having issues accessing the Parent Portal, please contact the school office for assistance.
