Notes from the nurse, Mrs. Guarnero

Parents or guardians of current students in grade 11-

The Indiana State Department of Health has updated the required immunizations for the 2018-2019 school year. Students entering grade 12 must have a MCV4 booster for the Meningitis vaccine they received in sixth grade and two Hepatitis A vaccines. The minimum interval between the first and second dose of Hepatitis A is six months. It is important for you to review your child’s immunization record to make sure they do not need to start the Hepatitis A vaccine now. The Meningitis booster and the two Hepatitis A vaccines are required to start the 2018-2019 school year. Do not delay and contact your healthcare provider today to verify if your child needs the vaccines for next school year. Feel free to contact Mrs. Guarnero, our school nurse, with any questions.
