The vision of the Collegiate Academy at Blackman High School is to create a challenging learning environment with a rigorous course of study where students can become well-rounded scholars who fulfill their potential as they transition from high school to post-secondary opportunities.

All Area Bowler Sarah Sanes
Congratulations Sarah Sanes for being named part of The Daily News Journal 2018-19 all-area bowling team. On April 9, 2019, Cecil Joyce wrote in the DNJ, "The Arkansas State signee was another cataylst on the Lady Blaze state semifinals team, averaging 207.7 on the season and reaching the state individual semifinals, finishing seventh."

Congratulations Paris Parker!
Central Michigan offered Paris the Multicultural Award of Distinction. Over 300 students applied and 20 were chosen for the interview process. Central Michigan distributed 10 awards and Paris ranked number one on their board.
Paris was also chosen to receive the exclusive MSEAP Scholarship (Medical School Early Acceptance Program with Middle Tennessee State University and Meharry Medical College School of Medicine. The committee received over 200 applications and chose 8 students for the scholarship. Paris was one! Way to go PARIS!
Congratulations Sarah Oppman!
- Sarah was named Youth of the Year by the Exchange Club of Murfreesboro!
- 1of 7 recipients of a scholarship from the Nashville Area Panhellenic Alumni Association.
- Sarah was presented with her Girl Scout Gold Award in a ceremony held by Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee at Lipscomb University.
- Sarah has also won a Star Scholarship from P.E.O. International!

Kylie was selected to participate in the 9th and 10th grade Tennessee All State Band on Wednesday-Saturday, April 10-13. This is a prestigious honor and we are so proud!

Way to go Joelle Patton!
Joelle Patton won both the 100 and 200 at the Volunteer Track Classic at the University of Tennessee on Saturday. This was a large regional meet with teams from as far away as Atlanta, Birmingham, Dayton, Ohio, and Philadelphia.
Joelle was also one of four Tennessee athletes up for the TN Runner of the Week Poll.
Way to go JOELLE!

BCA T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST
Submissions for the BCA t-shirt contest are due to Mr. Reed in the Counseling Office by Friday, May 3rd. The winner will receive a prize and the honor of having their design displayed on next year's BCA t-shirt.

BCA Parent Organization information:
- Please text @3gbh2k to the number 81010t to join BCAPO Remind. There are many opportunities coming up for parents to get involved!
- Officer elections will be held at our next meeting on May 6th at 6:30pm. We need volunteers for all positions.
- 9th & 10th grade BCA students will have the opportunity to earn community service hours and receive a FREE fun lunch on Wednesday, May 8th.
- 11th grade BCA students will have their fun lunch on Thursday, May 16th.
- Donations for P.A.W.S. and Doors of Hope will be accepted on Fridays & Mondays until May 6th for 9th & 10th graders and May 13th for Juniors. Items can be dropped off in front office or G-21 office. Please label donations with student's name and grade. 1 hour of community service will be given for each item donated.
- Everyone who donates will receive a ticket for the Fun Lunch event the week of the lunch. 9th & 10th grade will earn a pizza lunch and 11th grade will earn Chick-fil-A.

Attendance Matters!
Life Experience
Students must complete 40 hours of real-life experience in the area of his/her major. The experience must be approved by the faculty board. This experience can be completed any year but must be completed by April of the senior year. The experience may or may not be a part of the student’s senior research project. The experience should be meaningful and provide insight into the field of study the student is interested in. If you have already completed one of these classes in school please circle it on the form and write what year you took it.

Students can come by Mrs. Noffsinger's room in C-15 to get a form or click here to access the form on the BCA website. Forms should be turned in to Mrs. Noffsinger in C-15 or put in her mailbox. Experiences to be completed next summer must be submitted no later than May 1, 2019. The application is due 30 days prior to the experience in order to be approved by the committee. All life experience hours must be complete by April of your senior year.
