Here's What's Happening in 4th Grade!
Writing: This week students decided on their TED Talk focus. (Ask your child) The directions were to choose something that either breaks their heart OR brings joy to their heart. This project is a "passion project" that entails 21st century skills, all of the writing moves learned this year and involves voice and choice in the learning that will take place. Stay tuned to learn more about these TED Talks!
Math: Simplifying and identifying equivalent fractions. We are really focusing in on the students being able to make equivalent fractions.
ELA: We are working on writing our own poems. We are also working on creating our own TED Talk about something that breaks our heart, or is close to our heart. This will lead into our Wonder Workshop Work time that will start in a couple week. CLICK HERE to learn more about Wonder Workshop.
Social Studies: This week we began learning about the different eras that shaped our state. Students have been assigned an era to research and present to the class in a creative way that highlights the impact that the era had on our state.
