Important Resources and Information for Families and Students
Hi Squires Families,
Here is a list of resources, updates, and information for you as we start this venture into distance learning. Our team has worked incredibly hard to learn a whole new way of teaching the last two weeks. We ask for your patience and understanding during this time. There will be challenges, but we promise to do everything possible to support your students.
You will see the word NEW next to any section that has updates from last week.
Squires Parent and Student Handbooks Updates
Food Service Changes
ALL children ages 2-18 now can receive free breakfast and lunch every school day. You can stop by JD Smith Middle School (brand new building across the street from our school, 1880 E. Stanley Ave.; Make sure to enter from the back of the building off Tonopah Ave.) between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. When you stop by, you will be given both meals at once. Please wear a mask when picking up meals.
Plan for more small group support during distance learning
Starting October 5th, students in grades K-5 will receive more small group, individual support from teachers at Squires. Here is a summary of what is to come.
-ALL students will have small group time in reading and math.
-The time blocked off for science/social studies independent work time will be used for SELECTED students to participate in Zoom Reading Center, reading interventions, and/or GATE time. These supports may begin before October 5. More information will come your way if your student(s) are selected for these supports.
Thank you for being patient with us as we test students and prepare for more small group support. Our teachers continue to work hard to build out a comprehensive plan for all our students.
Reminder: Call Our School For Help
Our office is closed for health and safety reasons. If you need help from us, you must call 702-799-7169. We are only taking appointments for those who need to come see us in person. Please call us before coming to campus. Also know we are getting a lot of phone calls, and we are doing our best to answer them. If you cannot get through, please keep trying.
If you still need a chromebook and/or school supplies, please call 702-799-7169, extension 4004 for English; extension 4002 for Spanish.
Need Help Resetting Passwords?
We cannot help with this at the school site. You must go to stutech.ccsd.net or myaccount.ccsd.net for assistance. There are tons of ways to get help. Click HERE to find more information.
Important Note Regarding Recording Lessons
As of Thursday, August 20, CCSD has made a change to the recording policy during distance learning. Because of this, recordings of lessons will not be available to you until further notice. We need ALL parents to go into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to give permission for their child to be recorded. Please click on the "survey" tab to state whether or not you authorize the possible recording of your child's image, name, and participation. We will not post recorded lessons until all students in a classroom have given us permission to do so.

CCSD Parent Guide
This guide has all kinds of good information, including food service information. You can access the CCSD Parent Guide HERE.
Links to Live Teaching Lessons (Some grade level teams have made updates)
Your students will access lessons from Canvas (canvas.ccsd.net), and all links to live teaching lessons and assignments can be found there. If you have issues getting into Canvas for any reason, please contact your child's teacher. We have also included a list of links for live teaching as a backup. You can access all Google Meet live teaching links HERE. There are tabs across the bottom of the page. Look for your student's grade level for the links you need and the time lessons will be taught.
Need to contact a teacher?
Click on the teacher's name on the page HERE to get their e-mail address. You can also reach out via Class Tag if you already set up that account. If you cannot reach the teacher via e-mail or Class Tag, please call us at 702-799-7169.
