TEAM Academy Learning Plan
What a year we have had so far, and what a school year we are about to start! It will definitely look different than any other year, but the one thing that remains the same is the dedication we have to your student's education!
Over the past month we have developed our Learning Plan with three scenarios: In-person, Hybrid, and Distance Learning. This document is one that will keep changing as we learn more from the Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Education. You can view our Learning Plan on our website at www.team.k12.mn.us. Our school board will make the final decision on which scenario we will start the year with on August 19. We are working closely with Waseca County Public Health to make the safest decision for our staff and students and will let families know which scenario we will return to school with by August 19.
A few things we have done over the summer include:
- Purchased enough Chromebooks for every student to have one
- Obtained hot spots for families that don't have internet
- Developed a daily cleaning schedule for classrooms and high touch areas
- Hand sanitizer in all classrooms and at all entrances
- Measured each room to ensure students are socially distanced during the school day
Per the state guidance, a hybrid model of instruction could be where we could begin based on our current numbers. In this proposed model:
* All students distance learning Monday
* K-1 students would attend in person classes Tuesday through Friday
* Students in grades 2-6 would attend either Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday and Friday as an A or B group.
* All students do have the option to choose full time distance learning if that is what works best for your family. If you choose this option, your child will remain in distance learning for the first 6 weeks (fall conferences). After that time, you will need to decide if they will stay in distance learning or return to in-person.
Please complete the survey below by Monday, August 10 to help us move forward with our planning.

Back to School Parent Meetings
September 2nd & 3rd
8 AM to 7 PM
We are doing Parent Meetings this year instead of our normal school-wide Kickoff Night. During each parent meeting we can sit down with each family and go over our school year plan, Chromebook, Google Classroom, yearly paperwork, busing, food pickup, etc. You can also bring in school supplies, drop off medications with the nurse, K-4 hearing and vision testing, etc. As we get closer, we will have an online sign up tool for parents to utilize or your child's teacher will be reaching out to you.
Parents can order our NEW TEAM Academy t-shirt that night for your child. They are $10 each and are gold.
Enrollment Update!
All students who are currently attending TEAM are automatically enrolled for the following school year. New students will be enrolled on a first come first serve basis. All students who sign up after a class is full will be put on a waiting list. If you know of anyone thinking of enrolling their child at TEAM please encourage them to do so as soon as possible to ensure they have a spot. Enroll any NEW students here.

Free Breakfast and Lunch for EVERY Student
We are pleased to announce that TEAM Academy will participate again in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for School Year 20-21. What does this mean for you and your children attending TEAM? All enrolled students of TEAM Academy are eligible to receive a healthy break-fast and lunch at school at no charge to your household. As parents, you can count on your child(ren) eating two healthy meals each day! If your child brings a lunch from home and needs a milk or wants to purchase a 2nd milk for their lunch it will cost them $0.50.
Free Healthy Snacks
TEAM Academy will once again have the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) this year. A fresh fruit or vegetable snack will be provided for students every day. Snacks will be served mid-morning. The main goal of the FFVP is to increase the fruit and vegetable consumption of elementary school children. In addition to providing fresh fruits and vegetables, another goal of this program is to provide nutrition education to the children. Please continue to talk with your children about the healthy choices they receive at school.
