From Your Stated Clerk

This week was the first of our choir rehearsals of Handel's Messiah which will be presented December 3 and 5. The last time we sang this great work was way back in 2018. Revisiting the music is like catching up with an old friend and we have many friends from other churches joining us, so we are literally catching up with old friends. The Scriptures used in this masterwork summarize the basics of our theology and all point to the divinity and the humanity of Jesus. We have been blessed with Bruce Snyder's musical and spiritual leadership for these past 25 years and are grateful for this continuity in times of uncertainty.

Speaking of blessings, we are having our own Martha Peisko lead us in worship this Sunday, with Bruce Snyder the following week when we will celebrate Heritage Sunday. Bill Marvin's health is much improved and he will be coming down from his retirement home in Mackinaw City and lead us on October 31st. Dr. Kate Thoreson will be leading us in Communion for November and December, and Andy and Carrie Robertson will be bringing a mission-focused message on November 28th. (Yes, Andy is the son of Mary and the late David Robertson.)

Jennifer Taub

Dear Members of OLCC,P,

You may be aware that Jennifer's time with us is coming to an end. Her last day is October 28. On behalf of the congregation, we want to thank Jennifer for providing over 3 years of dedicated service to our church family. We have been blessed with someone who has been dedicated to her work here at OLCCP, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when she had to work from home for many months. Her oversight of the office functions has been truly a blessing as well her engagement with our members.

We’d like to gather cards and written thoughts from members of the congregation expressing all that she has done to serve our church. Please mail any cards or notes to:

If you wish to give Jennifer a monetary gift, please make out a check to Jennifer Taub, not OLCCP. You can drop off a cash gift and card to the office during business hours (M-Th 9am-3pm).
