What We Did This Week
Biz Town was a HUGE hit! Students had a blast running their city for the day. I am so impressed with how responsible, mature, and motivate they all were!
I want to send out a special THANK YOU for everyone who helped to make Biz Town such a big success.
Today we had students competing with each other while learning some science. The BOat Challenge was a lot of fun, and we definitely have discovered some future architects and engineers out there!
The Boat Challenge
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF THE MOMS!
NexT WeeK
Our last STAAR test is on Wednesday. Please have students leave backpacks and electronics at home. They will need to bring 2 books, a healthy and mess-free snack, a water bottle, and a positive attitude! :)
We will begin working on our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) unit in science and our focus in math will be on looking ahead to some 5th-6th grade skills, starting with simplifying fractions with larger digits than we have been using. We will review the strategies that we learned and apply them along with our number sense to fractions with larger denominators and numerators.

Warmer Weather
With the warmer weather comes the summer clothes. Please make sure that students are following the dress code so that we will not need to send them to the nurse for a change of clothes. Students should not wear shirts that are see-through, have straps less than 2 inches in width, wear shorts that are not mid-thigh length, and running shorts need to be worn with leggings or spandex under them. Thank you for revisiting this with your child. They have grown quite a bit since the last time they probably wore a lots of their warm-weather clothes!
