Dare to Dream!
Empowering World Class Leaders and Life-Long Learners!
Parent Conferences/Professional Learning/Student Holidays
Thank you for scheduling your parent conferences. It has truly been a celebration of our parent/teacher/student partnerships. In 3rd-5th grades, our students have truly "owned" their learning as they set goals, monitored their progress and shared their successes through our Student-Led Conferences. Please watch for the survey and share your thoughts and feedback! As always, our goal is to continually improve as we Empower World-Class Leaders and Life-Long Learners!
Parent Referral Information Night for TAG Testing-Nov. 4
This meeting will cover information about our gifted program in RRISD and how we provide services at Sommer. We will cover the testing process, the timeline and steps parents need to take to refer their child for testing. For parents unable to attend, the presentation and timeline will be added to our TAG Team Website afterwards. It is not necessary to contact TAG teachers directly before referring a student.
From the Library: Coins for Coats
Coins for Coats is an opportunity for students to help other students obtain a coat for the winter through Keep Round Rock Warm, a coat distribution project of the Round Rock Area Serving Center.
The Keep Round Rock Warm project provides a coat to the children in the RRISD who are on the free and reduced lunch program.
We will be collecting funds from October 16th through the 18th. Students are encouraged to bring their spare change and dollar bills to their teachers during those days. Checks can be made out to RRASC: Keep Round Rock Warm.
The K-2 class and 3-5 class with the highest donations will receive 5 books for their classroom libraries from the Sommer Library Activity fund.
