What is Lymph Node Cancer?

Lymph Node Cancer; also known as Lymphoma, is a tumor in the lymphoid tissue. It is a cancer in the immune system that can start right on the nodes or start somewhere else and spread to the nodes. There are two type; Hodgkins Lymphoma, and non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Sypmtoms:

  • swelling in groin, neck, & underarms
  • ear pain
  • fever
  • abdominal discomfort
  • night sweats
  • fatigue
  • weight loss

Testing Procedures

  • biopsy (removal of nodes)
  • needle biopsy (sample of nodes)
  • scans or imaging tests

  • estimated 761,659 people living with lymphoma
  • now considered to be 1 of the most curable cancers
  • 20,940 deaths in 2015
  • survival rate is 93.7%
