Our Mission and Goals

Mission Statement:

Our mission at Fletcher Elementary, through partnership with our children, families, and communities, is to educate our students by meeting the individual needs of the whole child, ensuring successful, productive, responsible citizens while providing a safe and nurturing environment.

Congratulations on achieving 5.01 growth last year!

SIP Goal 1: Fletcher Elementary will meet or exceed expected growth and meet all Annual Measurable Objectives.

SIP Objectives:

1. Our K-2 composite Reading scores will increase from 83% to 90% on grade level and our 3-5 Career and College Ready proficiency will increase from 53.3% to 75%.

2. Our K-2 math proficiency will increase from 88% to 93% on grade level and our 3-5 Career and College Ready proficiency will increase from 62.3% to 80%.

Holiday Cheer!

Thank you to everyone who has helped spread the holiday spirit at our school! I would like to send a very special thank you though to Linda Greene, Debbie Greene, Julie Ledford, and Carolyn Hyatt for all their work with chorus this fall. The Fletcher chorus performed not only at Cookies & Cocoa with Santa this year but also at the Fletcher Community Park Tree Lighting. Our students sounded and looked fabulous thanks to the dedicated leadership of these wonderful ladies and I know we are all looking forward to the chorus performing for us on December 18. Thank you also everyone else who helped in a myriad of ways to make Cookies & Cocoa a success!

I would also like to wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! You all do an incredibly difficult job each day but you are a true blessing to all of our students. Be sure you come by the Christmas tree to choose your gift and enjoy your luncheon tomorrow. Also, I hope you will all find time to rest and relax during the break and come back ready to start the new year filled with energy and enthusiasm!

Student Perception Surveys

I want to address one issue that came up in the NC Teachers' Biweekly email from DPI. The email discusses the implementation of student perception surveys in the spring across the State for grades 3-12. These surveys are optional and Henderson County Public Schools will not be participating in these surveys.

Have You Seen Our YouTube Stars?!

Our 3rd-5th grade teachers have made several videos this fall to help parents at home and I wanted to share the most recent ones with you below. All the videos the teachers made are linked on the school website and you can access them as well. So settle in to a comfy chair, pop some popcorn, and be impressed with these ladies hard work!
