Buckingham Parent News
May 2015
Note from the principal...
Wow...can you believe it is May 2015! What a fantastic year of growth we have had. Our school has welcomed many new families and teachers, embarked on new STEM curriculum, developed integrated STEM units of studies, collaborated with STEM professionals in our community and continue to provide an education based on what is best for children. We will look forward to our families and community members joining us for our STEM Week and an evening culmination the last week of May. Students will share their learning, community partners and organizations will be sharing in the importance of building STEM education in the early years. Please make sure to read through our May newsletter for important event dates and school schedules.
The first week of May is teacher appreciation week, so please send your child with a hand made note or drawing for their teacher. I am honored to learn from the teachers at Buckingham. Our staff is here on the weekends and late at night working tirelessly for each and every child. They demonstrate patience, compassion and commitment to learning the best practices and strategies to support each of their students. The staff at Buckingham is forward thinking educators who are life long learners and they love and care about your children.
Warm regards,
Sunshine Dandurand

Thank you for your contributions through the Giving Letter Campaign to support STEM!
I am so excited to be part of a community that invests in innovative strategies to give children what they need to be prepared for their future and not our past. We were able to raise $4000 that will directly impact your students ability to access high level STEM curriculum and field experiences.
