Big picture

Dear Families,

It is time once again to lend your support to the Ventura Cheers for Children, formerly known as Cheers for Children, different name but same campaign. As many of you know, we generally partner with Balboa Middle School to bring you the annual Cheers for Children food drive that provides holiday meals for families in need throughout our community. This year, however, due to COVID-19, we will have to take a slightly different approach, but one I hope will be just as meaningful. This year our goal is to raise funds to provide gift cards to families in need to shop for food and/or other items they may need. We hope that you would consider donating the money you would have normally spent on canned goods so that we can have the ability to support as many families as possible.

This year, we are excited to announce that we are now taking donations electronically through Zelle and Venmo @VenturaCheersForChildren (Last 4 digits of phone # for confirmation are 6713), making it an easy and accessible way to participate. However, checks and cash are still accepted. Checks should be made out to Ventura Cheers for Children and given to your school office, who will then forward the donations to my office. Please make sure to include the school you are supporting in the note section. If you have any questions regarding this year’s Ventura Cheers for Children campaign, please contact Rose Ramirez at 641-5000 x 1013 or Amy Dahm x 1014.

Thank you in advance for helping to make this season a happy one for those less fortunate!

Happy Holidays'!
