Mr. Mauck's Musings
It is Friday, which means Football vs. the Alices and it is Senior Night. Come out and cheer for the cats as they take on the Alices. Mrs. Mehringer and Mrs. Beier's classes got us in the mood for football with a tailgate-themed event during their classes. The marketing class created the themes and the culinary arts class made the delicious treats. We had a great pep session today with all kinds of activities. There are pictures below. The Cheerleaders performed their routine and will compete in Fortville next weekend. The band will compete Saturday with 11 other bands to move on to the Super Regional next Friday. Tomorrow's performance will be at 6:45 EST on the field at Evansville Central. Super Regional will be at Lucas Oil Stadium Friday, the 21st at 1:30 pm.
Next week is Fall Break and school will not be in session. When we return SADD will have Red Ribbon Week activities urging everyone to make good decisions. Congratulations to our Studnet of the Week Dominic Ballou and our staff member Mr. Chad Gayso. Seniors make sure you have completed the form Mrs. Schum sent out for your name on your diploma and the program. As we approach November JHS must purchase the AP tests for the Spring. If you are taking an AP class now and are planning on dropping the class at semester please let your guidance counselor know. If you do not notify them and drop you will be charged the $40 fee AP Central charges the school.
Our German guests from Faust Gymnasium in Staufen Germany have returned home. We had a wonderful visit and are excited to make the trip to Faust next year. Thank you to the Sister Cities Group for making the exchange possible.
Please spend a second looking at the community events as there are several events worth attending this month. Have a great weekend and stay safe.
Quote of the Week
AP Test Order & Drop Fee
AP Students - AP exam administration orders are due to be finalized to the College Board by November 15th. The College Board will charge Jasper High School $40.00 for any exam returned after that date. If a student is going to drop an AP class at semester break it is very important for them to confirm that with Mr. Uebelhor before we submit our exam order. We plan to submit our final order on Friday, November 11th. Any student dropping an AP class after that will have the $40.00 charge added to book rental fees.

Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition (SWICACC) is hosting a pumpkin decorating contest by local businesses and community members. Guests may wander through the "pumpkin patch" and enjoy all of the donated, decorated pumpkins.
At the end of the walk, you may vote for your favorite pumpkin. Votes will be given via monetary donations to SWICACC - the winner is the pumpkin that raises the most money! (Pumpkins will also be posted on our Facebook page prior to October 24th. You may also donate through the link provided for each pumpkin.)
Community members/kids may bring their own decorated pumpkin to add to the pumpkin walk and help raise money for SWICACC!
H ot chocolate and Apple Cider will also be available for you to enjoy. All proceeds will go towards the Center.
(Donations not necessary to attend. Perpetrators are not allowed on the premises.)
We would love it if your business would support this event by submitting a Pumpkin for the contest.
