Article of the Week
Quote of the Week:
Note from the Principal:
I couldn't imagine having too much more Bear Tavern Pride right now and I'd like to thank you for that. Please indulge me and take one to two minutes this morning to think about what Bear Tavern Pride means to you.
I had a tough last few weeks and on a basic level, I have been overwhelmed and blown away by the support, kindness and care that I have received from you. I'm OK and we'll move forward in a positive and strong way, but I need everyone to know how much I appreciate the atmosphere that exists in our school and the warmth that I was shown.
There is no assessment or vehicle to measure or quantify the heart, the enthusiasm and the creativity that flows each day at BT, but I feel it and recognize it. Just a few weeks ago, we had over 20 volunteers from all over the community working with our kids, now we have 32 people recording read alouds, we have kids cheering about books and had mixed age groups reading and bonding all throughout the building. Not to mention the parent communications that I have seen our staff take part in, the projects, publishing parties, learning opportunities, team building and activities that you have provided...
Bear Tavern Pride is indeed a living, breathing thing and it would be hard to deny that it is a really positive and powerful force. I've said it before and I will continue to say it. I'm excited that we've created an atmosphere in which we work to get better because we can and we want to, but also that we have the confidence and courage to do some special things for our kids. I truly do want to get better and do better, just because of everything that I see each day around Bear Tavern. I absolutely believe that we have something unique and positive and something that is still improving and trending upward in our building. I appreciate that you bring ideas and suggestions forward and that you are willing to go along with some of my goofy ideas with an open mind and smile. It makes all of the difference.
I love our school and am so thankful to be in it with you - through the great moments and the crappy ones. And I think that the great moments WAY outnumber any other kind.
So, please take a few seconds to:
#1 - Smile, accept the compliment and know that you are a big part of what is special about our school
#2 - Think about something or someone special that motivates you at Bear Tavern (if you want to take it a step further - say thank you to the person and give her/him a high five or send an email). Think about what Bear Tavern Pride really means and can mean going forward.
HAPPY FRIDAY and have a great St. Patrick's Day!!!
Sincerely,
Chris
