News to Know

Fall Picture Day

All students will have their picture taken on October 2! This is the picture used for the yearbook and class composites. Picture order forms will be sent home for any parents who want to order pictures. Order forms and money are due on picture day if you want to purchase fall pictures. A re-take day is scheduled for November 6 if necessary.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are Thursday, October 22 and Monday, October 26 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Conferences will be scheduled soon. Please contact your child's teacher if you have a preference on which day you can attend conferences.

Fall Classroom Parties

Fall Parties will be held on October 29 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. If you are interested in attending or helping with your child's party, please contact their classroom teacher. Any parent who wants to attend the party can stop by the office to fill out a Volunteer Affirmation prior to the party. All food items brought in need to be store bought. Costumes, hair dye, or face painting is not allowed for the Fall Classroom Party.

Jackets, Backpacks, and Lunchboxes - Oh my!

Students bring a lot of items to school each day. Sometimes, not all the items make it home again. Please write your child's name somewhere on their belongings in case they get misplaced, left outside at recess, or in the cafeteria. Items gather quickly at our school in our Lost and Found. If your child comes home without a jacket, backpack, or lunchbox have them check the Lost and Found. There is a good chance it's there!

PBS for Parents

What is PBS? It's our school-wide expectations! Every day we say our school motto after the pledge: At Pioneer Trail I will be safe, be respectful, be responsible.

This year at our school, students and staff worked together to decide exactly what that means in all the different areas of our school. Our expectations are all positively stated. Instead of "no running" as one of our hallway expectations, we say "use walking feet." This is an important part of PBS to be POSITIVE!

Students are also helping to TEACH our expectations to each other this year. One fourth grade class showed us what it looks like to be safe, respectful, and responsible in all settings, and one second grade class is teaching us how to be safe, respectful, and responsible in the hallways with a rap! Check it out!
