President, Rebecca Cassidy Hammontree, Pi:
Hello Sisters!
After what seems like the longest summer ever, it is finally fall! Recruitment is wrapping up, and the luckiest of universities are enjoying football games and tailgates. I reflect back on my times in college and how lucky I was to have my Sigma sisters by my side for all of the festivities!
I feel a little sad for the women in college right now as they are missing out on some of the things that make up my fondest memories. But I am confident they are making their own memories and hopefully using their sisters to pick them up when they feel down!
That has never changed. We are here for you - always! Remember, we are faithful until death! We are sisters forever! Let us know if we can help you in any way - to pick you up when you are ailing or to celebrate those moments of success with you!

December 2nd from 12-1:30 - KC Tri Sigma Alumnae Holiday Luncheon
Look for Book Club in November and December this year!
We would like to get some additional online activities going. If you have ideas - please share them!
Save the Date!
Hi Everyone,
I have reserved the Blue Hills Country Club for a Ladies Holiday Luncheon on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Usually the KC Alumnae Chapter has this Holiday Luncheon at the Webster House in downtown KC but they have closed! I’m hoping it will be safe to gather and celebrate the holidays before everyone gets too busy. Watch for an email announcing this luncheon and price (about $35 including tax & tip). Blue Hills will be decorated for the holidays and will be a nice way to start celebrating Christmas.
Sigma Love,
Carole Ruf Gurley

Book Club - Ilene Ginardi Burns, CHI:
October Book Club
Paulette Strader (NU) chose our book club title for October. It is Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral by Kris Radish.
This book, which some might think is about dying, is really about living. It is for any woman who has ever lost something or someone she loved....and then moved forward.
We will meet, once again, on ZOOM on October 28th at 9:30 am. Watch your email or send us a message for the log in.
Usually we do not meet in November & December because of the holidays. However, we do plan to meet via Zoom this year. Look for upcoming information!

Collegiate News
Each month, the Tri Sigma chapters in Missouri and Kansas have the opportunity to share information about what is going on at "home!" If you do not see your chapter listed, know that we hope to hear from them in upcoming months!
BETA BETA (MSU):
We had fully virtual recruitment and have 41 new members and are in the COB process now. We are at 100% new member retention which is awesome. We are working on helping our sisters grow closer together through intentional sisterhood activities.
Virtual is different, but we're making the best out of it! As of right now, we can not think of any needs, but hope for all our sisters around the world stay safe and healthy!
NU CHAPTER (UCM):
Recruitment: We had a successful recruitment and gave bids to 13 lovely women! We are currently in our COB process and have given out 6 more bids!! They are excited to be in their Arc Degree process and are learning about Sigma'[s history every Sunday!! We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our NU sisters for donating funds for meals during recruitment. We cannot tell you how much that meant to us. You are the best alumnae out there and we are glad to call you ours!!
Bid Day: Our bid day theme was “Falling in love with Sigma”
Philanthropy: We are getting ready to hold our first ever philanthropy event called “Soak-a-Sigma”. On Sunday, September 20th, we turned to Facebook and Instagram live to broadcast our event. Everytime we got a virtual donation we soaked a sigma with our dunk tank. We raised over $660! Thank you to all the alumni that donated!
Big Little Reveal: We had our first big/little of the semester! The week was filled with bigs giving clues and small gifts to their new littles and we ended the week with a fun reveal at Panhellenic Hall.

THETA DELTA (Lindenwood):
From September's newsletter-
The women of Theta Delta Chapter are so excited to begin our semester with plenty of upcoming virtual activities. We are fortunate enough to have a Town Hall meeting with our whole fraternity and sorority community at Lindenwood University over Zoom. Every Sunday we have a virtual meeting with our whole chapter to establish a line of communication and normalcy. We are happy to be able to have a virtual recruitment this year beginning September 9th; we cannot wait to grow our chapter with amazing ladies! In addition to the virtual chapter meeting, we are having a virtual Arc Degree for those new members! We are extremely excited for this next month!
