Newsletter for April 4-8
SPRING PICTURE DAY IS WEDNESDAY APRIL 6!
End-of-Grade Tests
EOG's are coming up soon! Please make sure your child is completing his/her homework each night. For reading passages, your child should be going back in the text and underlining or highlighting where they find their answers. This is a strategy we use in class and one your child will use on the EOG. For math, please make sure your child works each problem out.
EOG's are scheduled for May 25 and May 26.

Biography Project
Our biography research in class wrapped up today. We started writing the first paragraph of our report today. We will be writing the report in class together and should finish on Friday. The week of April 11-14, we will be working on an index card for our presentation. The biography bottle is due on April 15. On this day, your child will be presenting his/her bottle to the class.
Cox Mill High School Science Night
What We Are Learning This Week:
Reading/ELA
This week we will begin writing our biography reports. We will also review the skill of sequencing. We will be having a Wordly Wise test on lesson 7 this week. Please make sure your child studies. Also, with reading passages, your child should be looking back in the text to find the answers. Your child may highlight or underline with a pencil.
Math
We will start to wrap up our fraction unit with a PBL (problem-based learning). We will be exploring how to use fractions in the real world. Your child will be applying for a position at a pizzeria and working his/her way up the pay scale to become manager! I will be sending more information about this fun way of exploring math because I will need your help. At the end, we will be making our own pizzas!
Social Studies
We will begin a unit on landforms.
