ACS Summer 2019 PD

Information on Summer Professional Development

In an effort to respond to feedback from teachers, we will be trying a different way of organizing professional development. We will be offering a summer conference but only for one day to allow teachers to attend more summer sessions. There will be some Google sessions available to all teachers but focusing on implementation rather than a "how to" use of a tool. The eLearning Coaches will offer sessions designed for elementary, middle or high school teachers that will focus on topics specific to those levels. Read on for information and sign up.

Sessions Open To All Teachers- RSVP to the one(s) you want.

Hyperdocs

What is a HyperDoc?

It's an innovative way to put an entire interactive digital lesson into your students' hands. If you're looking for something to replace boring worksheets with something more exciting that allows students to collaborate, think critically, combine information from multiple sources, and create through technology, then HyperDocs is right up your alley.

We'll focus on how to build a HyperDoc and look at various ways to utilize them in your class. RSVP to attend.

Wednesday, June 12th, 8-11am

Anderson, IN

RSVPs are enabled for this event.

Google Forms and Sheets

Forms are among the internet's most versatile tools. Whether you need a contact form or a checkout page, a survey or a student directory, a form is all you need to easily gather that information. With Google Forms, it only takes a few minutes to make one for free.

It's easy to use and one of the simplest ways to save data directly to a spreadsheet, and it's the best sidekick to Google Sheets' spreadsheets.

This session will cover how to build forms for different uses as well as how to manipulate the spreadsheet to display the data the way you want. RSVP to attend.

June 13- 8:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.

We'll show you the fundamentals tools for building these and more. RSVP to attend.

Grade Level Professional Development

Our eCoaches will be offering sessions for grade levels. In case you were unaware, the eCoaches are:

Elementary - Andrea Meadows

Middle School - Sarah Hiner

High School - Rissi Scott

These coaches will be communicating with their teachers about the content, time and place of the trainings. Look for communication from these teachers soon if you haven't already received it.

What Do I Get?

Unfortunately, due to cuts in federal funding, we will not be able to provide the $17.00 hourly stipend for summer PD offerings. We will, however, be providing the PGP points (1 point for each hour of training).
