THE WEEK AHEAD

Kindness Adventure Assembly

Wednesday, October 3, 1:30 - 2:15 p.m.

Last spring, we welcomed the NED Show for a special assembly where our students learned a very important lesson in a very fun way:

  • Never give up
  • Encourage others
  • Do your best

Next week, we will participate in NED's Kindness Adventure, an assembly designed to inspire our students to be kind-hearted and caring. Be sure to ask your children what lessons they take away!

GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL PERSONS DAY

FRIDAY, OCT. 5, 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Who is special to your child? A grandparent, aunt, uncle, a neighbor, YOU? Every student is invited to bring a special guest to school! The schedule is as follows:

  • 7:30 a.m. Students arrive to school at the usual time.
  • 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Doors open for Special Guests to arrive. They are welcome to bring their students to the Scholastic Book Fair in the School Library.
  • 9:30 a.m. Classroom visits begin. Jr. High will meet in the School Hall for the Scholastic Showdown.
  • 10:15 a.m. We will head over to Church together for our all-school Mass.
  • 11:30 a.m. Special Guests may sign their students out from Church. The Book Fair will open again for more shopping. Children who will be remaining at school will proceed to Extended Day with their teachers.

Please help us with our planning by returning the RSVP form that came home in the Thursday envelope this week.

Pet Blessing

In honor of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, we will hold a Pet Blessing immediately following the 4:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, October 6 and after the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, October 7. Bring your pets (or a photo) to the driveway in front of church. All creatures great and small are invited!

Yard Signs

Thank you to everyone who has been displaying our St. Ann School yard signs! If you would be so kind as to take them in this weekend and store them someplace safe, we will let you know when they should be displayed again. Marketing research tells us that if we leave them up continuously, the people we are hoping will notice them will stop "seeing" them once they become too familiar. So we will ask that they be brought out again in the spring when they will be fresh and new once again! We're working on something new for the holidays . . .
