Back to School
Carver Elementary Coyote Newsletter September 2021
Dear Families,
WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL! We wanted to let you know that the students are off to a great start. Our school motto this year is ABOVE ALL BE KIND. Our students have shown some wonderful acts of kindness the first week of school. We are so proud of their excitement and engagement at school already.
This year we are excited to improve our intervention offerings to support students who may have increased gaps in math and reading after the pandemic. Some of the exciting changes we have made include:
- starting intervention blocks much earlier in the year, intervention beginning in mid-to-late September
- using NWEA data in grades 1-5 to identify specific areas where students may need support.
- a dedicated 30-minute block of reading and math support daily where small groups have engaging skill-based instruction by the reading or math team
- flexible grouping where students can move in and out of intervention as skills are gained or needs are identified
- monitoring throughout the year to make sure our interventions are effective and students gain skills to be successful at their grade level
We will continue to use this electronic newsletter to communicate school wide information and updates. We will also use our Carver Elementary School APP so don't forget to download and set up the notification alert.
Office hours at CES will be 8-3PM Monday through Friday. If you have any questions and need to reach us, please call 508-866-6210.

Miss French
Hello Carver families! My name is Maddy French and I am honored to be a part of your children's education. This will be my first year within the district and I am excited to learn about the community through you! I look forward to creating a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for our students to grow and be successful in each and every day. I have a background in elementary, special, and art education. I grew up in Sandwich, MA and the beach is my happy place! I hope that your students are as excited as I am for all the fun things we will be learning in our science and math classroom!
