Weekly Updates from Principal Hofmann - Apex High School
Week of June 15, 2020
Message from Principal Hofmann,
Dear Cougar families,
My final PEAK News will focus on sending Congratulations to our Class of 2020 for the final time. What a year it has been! I couldn't be more proud of how each of you kept your head up, stayed positive and showed such amazing resilience despite the unprecedented events that kept you from what a typical Senior year should have been. I believe that this will be the very reason why your Senior year will be more memorable than ever! We definitely have much to celebrate. Each one of you has left your mark on Apex High School and we will be better because you were a part of the Cougar family.
Important Summer Information
- Summer Hours for Front Office: Monday - Thursday from 10 am - 2 pm
Summer School: If your child has been selected to attend Summer School, you should be receiving a phone call this week from our summer school coordinator. Summer school will be conducted virtually this summer.
- Textbook return: If you are not coming back to Apex HS in the fall, there is a bin at our front office for you to return textbooks, library books, etc.
- If you received a WCPSS chromebook during Remote Learning, you may hold on to that device for the time being.
Grading Information
- Please reach out to our Dean of Students, Keri Pannell, if you have any grade questions. Alpha counselors are out of the building for the summer and may not be responding to email.
- The district currently has no plans for mailing report cards home. If any family does not have access to PowerSchool, they can request a report card from Student Services.
AP Students
You can send your scores for free to one recipient every year that you take AP Exams. To use your free score send, sign in to My AP, go to My AP Profile, select the Score Send tab and choose the college, university, or scholarship organization that you want to receive your score report. Make sure to take advantage of your 2020 free score send before the June 30 deadline.
Have a great summer and keep being #PEAKProud and #PEAKStrong!
Warmest Regards,
Elaine Hofmann - Principal of Apex High School
