Thank You To The VanBlarcom Family!
When the teachers are away in trainings the parents come and play! We are so thankful for the VanBlarcom Family. We arrived this morning to our signs being touched up with new paint and creative art, wind chimes painted with glitter paint, our old picnic table upcycled and turned into benches for the playscape area and a cute little pretend campfire. Bonus: Frank put together our new picnic table for the parent area. Thank you so much! We are so thankful for awesome parents. It means a great deal to us. We hope Emmagrace enjoyed making her school a beautiful, whimsical, and inviting preschool.
Empowering educators and families in the pursuit of a better education for our children.

10th Annual School Play 2016
Preschool Students- Audience for 2016 School Play How does this prepare them for next years school play?
Lights, Camera, Action! Being on stage is a huge Deal and an experience that our young actors will remember for years to come. Each year, as a part of our Visual and Performing Arts program, Pre-Kindergarten students participate in a performance at Lemon Bay Playhouse. The experience is so very exciting for students but also offers multiple learning experiences that will lead the way to success in years to come. Being in front of an audience takes time to get accustomed to, as well as all of the many facets of putting on a live show! This experience prepares students for future performances in elementary school building confidence and a willingness to participate and enjoy. Our Nido and Preschool students although not in the show, watch the rehearsals and even learn some of the songs and choreography preparing them for their time to shine in the upcoming years. We encourage all of our students to attend the performance as many help to make the show what it is by adding to the excitement!

Co-Op Volunteer Hours
The new benches and pretend campfire on the playscape has provoked a camping project. So much Fun! We have added some camping props to our school wish list on Amazon. If you are still in need of volunteer hours for this school year you can donate props off the wish list for volunteer earned hours.
Through a Child's Eyes!
Emmagrace: "Miss Terra was talking to my mom like they were best friends"
Gia: "She was"
Emmagrace: "Yeah and Miss Terra talks to me like we are too, We are friends"
Gia: "Well of course you are best friends, she is your teacher!"
Let's hope for our children that they will always look at their teacher as a best friend and let's hope that they will always be made to feel that way by their teacher!

What is a Provocation? Reggio Inspired Learning
What is a Provocation? Reggio Inspired Learning--
Put simply, provocations provoke! They provoke thoughts, discussions, questions, interests, creativity and ideas. They can also expand on a thought, project, idea and interest.
Ultimately, the intention of provocations is to provide an invitation for a child to explore and express themselves. It should be open-ended and provide a means for expression where possible.
The new playscape benches and pretend campfire provoked an inspiration for camping project, pretend play such as roasting marshmallows and setting up tents. To be continued...
