A Note from Mrs. Mathe

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We were excited to welcome back all our Panthers this week for an amazing 2nd semester of school! I can not believe we are half way through the year already!

Dr. Null sent an update out on Monday regarding the rise in COVID numbers in our community. In response to this quick rise over the break, we have moved back to a level 3 on our COVID alert levels. We remain vigilant in our cleaning protocols, increasing hand washing and sanitizing throughout the day, and limiting large gatherings on campus. Mask wearing is recommended. Below is a copy of the email that was sent by Dr. Null, as well as a link to his video message.

If your child has tested positive for COVID, you may self report their case on their SSO. Directions are linked here.

Dr. Null's Update

Happy 2022, Conroe ISD Families!

Library News

I am excited to be back in the library reading and talking about books with our amazing Powell readers. During the school year, not a week goes by that at least one student tells me that Library is his/her favorite special class. As much as I'd like to take credit for their love of the library, the books are the real stars of the show. It thrills me that students get so excited about selecting and checking out library books.

But guess what? Life happens. Books are often lost or damaged when they go home. This year alone there are 350 overdue books. That adds up to over $5000!

How can you help? Look around at home for Powell library books. Students may return books any day of the week to book return carts outside the library doors.

In addition, please consider contributing to the following Donor's Choose Project by March 31. Help keep our library full of books that excite the students and enrich and support classroom curriculum.

Don't miss College Park High School musical Legally Blonde. It is a fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie. Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances - this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal!
