Frederick Douglass whas borne into slavery in 1818 and soon ran away

His Story

Douglass was born into slavery in February of 1818. He escaped slavery by disguising himself as a worker on a ship. He became famous when he started a newspaper called the North Star. It had articles about how slavery was bad and about women's rights. He got laws passed that said when you turned 18 years old, you would be free.
