Phase 2- Return to School Update
Teachers will provide live (synchronous) virtual instruction to students on a minimum day schedule on October 8, 9, 12, and 13. During these afternoons, teachers will receive professional development and prepare for students to return to class while students work on asynchronous assignments. October 14 is a minimum day for high school teachers for grading purposes. This timeline allows high school students to finish their final projects and exams online before changing to Phase 2 in-person learning with the next three course SLICE.
Phase 2 will commence with the start of the 2nd quarter. Students will begin their 2, 4, and 6 period course. Any student in a 0 period course will continue with the course until all courses end on December 18th.
Students will be divided into two cohorts:
Cohort A: Alpha A-Lopez
Cohort B: Alpha Loprieato-Z
Please see the schedule below for the slow roll in return to in person instruction, based on the assigned cohort:
- Thursday, October 15: Grade 9 Cohort B, Grade 12 Cohort B
- Friday, October 16: Grade 10 Cohort B, Grade 11 Cohort B,
- Monday, October 19: Grade 12 Cohort A, Grade 9 Cohort A
- Tuesday, October 20: Grade 11 Cohort A Grade 10 Cohort A
After the first 4 days as listed, students will be attending school as follows:
Cohort A: Mondays and Tuesdays (virtual Wed-Friday)
Cohort B: Thursdays and Fridays (virtual Mon-Wed)
WEDNESDAY: all students will be virtual

Paper Education Online Tutoring Service
We are excited to announce that OUSD will be offering all students free, 24 hour tutoring services available through "Paper Education". Students and teachers have access to this service through their OUSD dashboard.
