The Holocaust

Who was involved:
There were many victims involved with the holocaust including gypsies, political enemies, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, and people with disabilities. The most recognized were the Jews. There were also the the people that started the Holocaust that were involved. For example, Nazi party leaders, military officials, police, and some people with normal jobs, like doctors. The third group involved were the allies. They sent soldiers to defeat the Nazis and save innocent people from concentration camps.
What main ideas can be learned from this topic:
Due to the treaty of Versatiles Germany slipped into economic depression. This was all a downward spiral into the beginning of the Holocaust.
What times and/or places are relevant to the topic:
The holocaust started January 30, 1933, when Hitler became Chancellor, and ended in May 8, 1945. In general the Holocaust occurred in Germany and eastern Europe, but there were many camps in Poland.
Why/how does this topic relate to today:
Without the holocaust there is an endless amount of possibility's on what the world would be like today. World War II was a major turning point in American Jewish history, and without it the world would've been significantly different. The holocaust affected the world in many different ways such as, Israel would not exist.
