Caught Being a Leader
Viva Fiesta!! Way to go Action Team. Thank you Terri Harlow, Avery Barnes, Martha Silva, Tamera Barba, Juan Farias, Beatriz Olivia, Andy Schenk, Juana Witt and Randy Gastinger for the Raspas yesterday. It was so nice to bring the staff together and see everyone having a great time. Thank you for organizing this wonderful event.

5th Grade Student Rescues Frog from Certain Death
It was just another lazy warm Spring Thursday at Coker Elementary when the action exploded.
Many members of the fifth grade were enjoying outside PE with Coach Witt and Coach V when several students noticed what appeared to be a hurt frog IN THE BUS LANE. It was 2:20pm and buses were already lined up to come in to pick up students.
Springing into typical Coker Cub action….several of the fifth graders, aided by Ms Vick and Coach V, rushed over and scooped the frog into an orange safety cone and delivered it safely to the Coker Pond…thus saving his life from being run over by a bus, while also striking another blow for being responsible for the safety of the nature around the school.
At last count frog and pond are doing well. Hats off to the fifth grade and staff for this life saving action!!! (NOTE: Ms Vick looked it up on internet and discovered newest inhabitant to Coker Pond is actually a HOUSTON TOAD.)
Just another eventful day at Coker Elementary under the eyes of THE WATCHDOGS!
