Dear EUSD Families,
In Encinitas Union School District, we continue to be laser focused on teaching and learning. Each week as I visit classrooms, I am in awe of the efforts of our teachers to connect and engage students in high quality, meaningful learning experiences. At the same time, it is incredible to see our students who are so creative, compassionate and resilient.
We are expecting updated information about masks in schools on Monday and will update families immediately. We hear the varying viewpoints and value the cooperation of our community as we navigate these ever changing requirements and public health developments.
Warmly,
Andrée Grey, Ed.D.
Superintendent
EUSD Enrichment Programs Overview
Enrichment is part of what makes EUSD so special! Each school site provides enrichment opportunities to best meet the unique learning environment and needs of their school communities. All enrichment offerings are designed to extend classroom learning and provide students hands-on opportunities to enhance creative thinking, leadership skills, collaborative learning, increased literacy and so much more!
Our two District Enrichment offerings, Health and Wellness and TRAC (Teambuilding, Regulation, Acceptance, and Community), take place at every school site throughout the district and are 100% funded by EUSD. All of our District Enrichment offerings are tied to our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), and support the state requirements for Health and Wellness and Social Emotional Learning.
Site Enrichment opportunities make each school distinctive and special. Content areas differ slightly across the district and are driven by the unique learning environment and needs of the school, as well as input from students, staff, and parents. Site enrichment is funded 60% by parent donations and fundraising efforts, and 40% by the district. These experiences help support learning already taking place in the grade level classrooms, while also providing students a platform to explore their passions.
Enrichment Programs Survey
The District EEF Board would like to understand your family's feedback on Site Enrichment Programs at your school by taking a short survey. The primary objective of the survey is to gather information on current levels of satisfaction with -- and gauge the value of -- your enrichment programs. The aim is to collect this information from our parent community to help make informed decisions on future enrichment investments. The survey is not an election or meant to be a final determination for Enrichment program selection. Rather, it is meant to inform our EEF Board, PTAs, School Site Councils, Parents and School and District Leaders as they make these decisions. It is our hope to understand your feedback to help inform future decision making.
Prior to beginning the survey, we encourage you to explore all current enrichment offerings at your child's school site by clicking HERE. Additionally, if you haven’t had an opportunity to view your child’s school site enrichment showcase publication, you may do so by clicking a school site link below.
Please click HERE to begin the survey. Thank you for taking the time to provide this very important feedback!
Reminder: LCAP Survey & Video Recording Now Available: EUSD Educational Partners Overview & Feedback for LCAP 2022
Each spring, EUSD gathers feedback from all educational partners including students, families, and staff. The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and update are presented to our Board annually in June for review and approval along with the budget. Following approval, updated goals and actions are implemented the following school year, with an update to the Board on midyear progress in February.
EUSD held an information session on February 14 via Zoom webinar. A recording of the webinar is available for viewing at this link and the presentation slides are at this link. Additionally, surveys are open for feedback from all of our educational partners.
The LCAP survey for families is available at this link. We appreciate hearing from you!
