Theatre Week at Reynolds School!
It was truly amazing to watch our first and second graders learn an entire show in four days (eight hours to be exact) and then have the opportunity to perform it to their school and families. They were wonderful. All week there was great excitement in the building. Congratulations to all of our performers!
Thank you to the PTO for sponsoring this new event. A special thanks to Mrs. Lagomarsino and Mrs. Law for all they did behind the scenes to make it happen. Thank you to the teachers, staff, secretaries, custodians and families. There were many moving parts throughout the week that required a lot of collaboration. Finally, special thanks to our students for trying something new! We hope that it was a positive experience for all.
World Read Aloud Week- One School, One Book!
Every family will receive a copy of the same book and a reading schedule for the week. Please make the time so your family can participate in this special activity. Reading aloud at home is valuable because it better prepares your child to be an effective reader. But it is also a fun, worthwhile family activity. With the One School, One Book program, we aim to build a community of readers at Reynolds School. Everyone – students, teachers, even administrative staff – will be participating, and we can all reap the many benefits.
Your child will receive a copy of the surprise book on Monday. There will be clues leading up to the big reveal on Monday morning! Our School Committee has planned activities throughout the week for our students to enjoy that are all focused on the theme of the book. We will hold a reading assembly sponsored by the PTO called the Magic of Reading, read together as a school, enjoy reading with a family member as well as a therapy dog, and enjoy a variety of other fun activities throughout the week. We look forward to this wonderful week to continue to foster a love of reading in Reynolds School!Jump Rope For Heart- New Reynolds School Event
Community of Cultures Update
Thank you to all of the families that are participating in our Community of Cultures Program. It has been such wonderful addition at Reynolds this school year.
Recently, in Ms. Bunting’s Kindergarten class, students learned about Korean culture from Mrs. Cho. They learned where Korea was located and about different sights and food through pictures and videos. The children had a wonderful time making rabbit origami and learning how to pick up food using chopsticks!
Also, Mr. & Mrs. Morin came in to teach the children about the traditions and food of Croatian culture. Students were presented with a slideshow to see the location and history of Croatia and were shown beautiful pictures of the country. The children learned to say the words of different foods (hrana) in Croatian. They even tasted and loved the uzina!
