PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Tuesday, February 15, 2022
Dear SFX Family,
Yesterday was the start of the 3rd Trimester of the school year! Report Cards will be sent home tomorrow. Please take some time to review your child's report card and discuss goals for the final stretch of the school year.
Please join us this evening in the Trimber Yard for Family Food Truck Night starting at 5:30. Tomorrow, we look forward to school Mass and the 5th-7th Spelling Bee!
Next Tuesday, February 22 is a palindrome day (2-22-22), so we are going to celebrate with tutus and tie-dye, and other fun activities. Students may participate by wearing jeans with tutus and tie-dye shirts to school.
The SFX Mardi Gras Parade is returning! All are invited to join us at 9:30 AM on Friday, February 25 in the Trimber Yard as the Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade students put on a festive parade. All students are allowed to wear a Mardi Gras shirt and jeans to school that day. Also, Metairie Academy has just announced that they were able to secure a permit to have their annual parade. It will be at 12:30 PM on Friday, February 25. We will have a barricaded section in front of the school to watch the Metairie Academy parade. You are invited to join us for that, as well.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be Thursday, March 10 from 2:15-5:30 PM. This is a 1:30 PM dismissal day with no After School Care. All students must be picked up. If your child must come with you to your conference, we will have conference care in the cafeteria while you meet with your child's teacher. Individual teachers will be sending out sign-up information.
I hope you have a great rest of the week.
May God bless you and keep you,
Jessica

SFX School Community,
Greetings, all. Below is today's Email Update.
Food Trucks will be in the School Yard tonight from 5:30 - 7:30. Today is the day to begin preparation for consecration to St. Joseph on his March 19 Feast Day.
The "Walking with Purpose" Scripture Study on Fridays in Lent is open to all women, but especially designed for moms who have school-aged children.
Have a blessed week.
Father Joe
PS. I'm still recovering from the Rams snatching victory from Joe Burreaux and the Bengals.
READ TO THE FINAL FOUR CHALLENGE
Our 2nd and 3rd grade students logged a total of 9,480 minutes last week for the Read to the Final Four Challenge and have advanced from the Round of 64 to the Round of 32! Advancing to the Round of 32 earns our school Scholastic Dollars to spend on books from Scholastic. Last week's top readers for each homeroom were Harlan (2B, 510 minutes); Grant (2H, 510 minutes); Cate C. (3S, 245 minutes); and Sehanna (3T, 490 minutes). The homeroom with the highest average of minutes read was 3T.
Next up is the SWEET SIXTEEN, so be sure to read, track your minutes, and submit your minutes here before Saturday! Let's advance to the next round and be another step closer to winning the Read to the Final Four Challenge!
