Eighth Grade
Due to mother nature, eighth graders are gradually getting back in to the swing of things. As we are approaching the middle of the school year, double check to make sure your student has the necessary supplies - pencils, paper, glue stick, dry erase marker, etc. Dry erase markers/boards are used daily in math so donations of markers or student's having their own dry erase markers would be helpful. In English, students are beginning to read about Harriet Tubman. In math, students are working with systems of linear equations. In social studies, students are.studying the Articles of Confederation. For the quarter 2 science project, students created their own animals with some unique adaptations to help survive in different ecosystems. Shout out to Tamia's sweet "Sun Fur", Kiara's clever "KitKat," Nico's fierce "Hydropupper," and Zaid's camouflaged "Zillerou."

Next week they will create their penguin out of black and white paper, yarn and cloth and attach it to their background.

Dance
The Elementary Dance classes' dance vocabulary has grown so much, as have the dancers. Our "Dancing Wall" is in the beginning process of being constructed and is scheduled to be completed before the end of January. The students are having the opportunity to create "in-class" dances, using their terminology. I'm so impressed!
Ask your dancer to create dances for you at home.....it's so much fun!!!!
