What We Are Learning
The learner will: complete 3-digit addition problems by using place value; use place value blocks to model addition with two 3-digit addends; find the sum using the standard algorithm (regrouping where essential); use the standard algorithm to add 3 or more numbers (review commutative property of addition); use place value blocks and drawings to model subtracting 3-digit numbers; Wednesday, Sept. 30th addition/subtraction fact quiz
The student is expected to measure, test, and record physical properties of matter, including temperature, mass, magnetism, and the ability to sink or float. The student is also expected to describe and classify samples of matter as solids, liquids, and gases; and demonstrate that solids have a definite shape; and that liquids and gases take the shape of their container.
A Few Things...
Water bottles - Make sure your water bottle is spill-proof. Thanks!
EFF (expandable file folder) - The EFF should accompany the student at all times. Please make sure it's returned to school daily. Place it in your backpack the night before.
Think Through Math (TTM) and Fast Math (FM) - Complete lessons weekly!
Math Log - Document math practices weekly. It's due Friday, Oct. 23rd. Students may maintain their log in their EFF. I will check student's progress periodically.
