Dear Bulldog Families & Friends,

We had an amazing 5th week of school. Everyone is following class procedures and protocols, and classes are running smoothly. There is excitement in the air as our students are learning new things. Our faculty and staff work tirelessly to provide a great environment as students reach new heights on their spiritual and academic journey.

This week marks the halfway point to report cards. All students received a hard copy of their progress reports to take home for this first quarter. This is to ensure that you are aware of the grades they are earning. You have access to the most up to date grades through the parent portals. If they are doing well, please commend them on a job well done and encourage them to keep up the good work. If they are struggling, there is still time for them to work hard and bring up the grades before the quarter ends. This might also be a good time to contact the teacher to see how you can work together to help them.

The most important thing is to keep the lines of communication open so that we can work collaboratively together in the best interest of your child's education. Thank you for partnering with us on this journey and for choosing St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School! Go Bulldogs!

God Bless,

Mrs. Runnels

SACBS Bulldogs Carline Reminder

We are so excited that our carline is going well. Everyone can help us make it run more smoothly by coming at the alloted times and using the family name tags. The times are: 2:30 for ECC, 2:45 for 1st-5th grade students, and 3:00 for 6th-8th grade students. Please keep the name tags up until your child gets in the car.

Here is a fun video to give you a visual of what it should look like. Enjoy!

Congratulations to our St. Teresa of Calcutta Award Recipients August 2021

Congratulations to our August St. Teresa of Calcutta award recipients. Teachers submit nominations every month, and students are recognized at the first Mass of the following month.

St. Teresa of Calcutta dedicated her life to helping the poor, and was considered one of the greatest humanitarians of the 20th century. She once said, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier."

Teachers felt that the following students display similar qualities that Mother Teresa did, and are exemplarily ambassadors of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School:

August Recipients:

M'Kayla Walker - 8th Grade

Baron Rideau - 1st Grade

(bottom l-r)

Liam Paillet - 3rd Grade

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner

Help your child's class fatten up their chicken by selling your chicken dinner tickets. Every class has one of these signs near their door. Each week they will be able to change their chicken size based on how many families in their class sold tickets. We will keep you posted on how we are doing as a school community with this graphic. I know that together we will be able to fatten up our chicken and reach our $20,000 goal!

Don't forget, we will start our prize wheel this week. Students that sold all of their tickets will take a spin of the prize wheel.

We have a prize that parents will also enjoy. On Friday, families that sold all of their tickets will be put in a drawing for a week of BYPASS CARLINE. If chosen, you will receive a sign to allow you to bypass carline for a week! Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity.

Ms. Davila's Spanish Class

Ms. Davila’s 8th grade students had a fun Friday in Spanish class! Students have new Spanish textbooks that came with an ebook subscription and online resources. Students were able to complete workbook activities online and then had time to play some of the online games provided. They had so much fun practicing pronouns, greetings and farewells, and expressing courtesy in the online games. What a great learning environment!

Friday Fun in Aftercare with Crafts!

Friday in aftercare was a fun day creating jeweled magnetic clothespins. Students had a blast creating their own design of shapes and colors. Jaden was a terrific helper assisting the younger children in gluing and setting the stones. Students will bring them home on Monday and parents can place the clips on their refrigerator to attach special notices or artwork. We had so much fun we created extra special clips for the wonderful ladies in our office.

Reading with Third Grade

Ms. Smith's class enjoys spending time reading books of their choice from their class library. It's great to see the love of reading being cultivated, as we know reading is the key to success.
