This lesson explores Standard 3, Objective 2a for second grade!
Five different stations
Children are divided into five groups. Each station has one of five items to weigh in two different forms.
Stations:
- paper clips
- attaching cubes
- clay
- aluminum foil

Let's mass!
Students mass each item two ways. For example, do two attached cubes and eight attached cubes have the same mass as ten attached cubes?
Debrief
Children discuss the results of the lab.
