Eye of the Dragon
John Dewey Academy of Learning, May 10-14, 2021
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the John Dewey Academy of Learning is to provide students
with a rigorous project-based curriculum and a safe, caring community in which to learn.
By developing the whole person - academically, professionally and personally -
JDAL will assist students in reaching their full potential.
STAR TESTING
Students will be taking the final STAR tests of the year this week. In an effort to reduce testing fatigue and to encourage students take the necessary time to complete the tests, we are only proctoring one test per day. All students will take the STAR Math Test on Tuesday at 9:30am. The STAR Reading Test will take place Thursday at 2:00pm. Students should continue with their ALEKS math topics after the STAR test.
As a standards-based learning environment, we are able to use the STAR results to grant students credit for the standards they show proficiency in. JDAL staff also review the results to identify students who may need additional support in the areas of reading and math.
Please reach out to your child's advisor if you have questions or would like to see your child's STAR results.
With gratitude,
Jen + the JDAL Staff
