FINAL EXAMS - December 20th & 21st
2017-2018 Weatherford High School Exemption Policy
The Weatherford High School exemption policy is based on attendance and semester grade average. This policy affects final exams in both semesters of the school year in grades 9-12. Each class and semester stands on its own.
Student Attendance on Exam Day(s): Students must be present on the exam day(s) for the duration of the exam period(s) for which the exemption is received. If a student fails to attend class during the period the exam is given, the student will receive a zero for the final exam and be required to make up the exam on a date arranged through the WHS Administration.
For ALL final exam exemptions, the following criteria must be met:
- Students must not have had any discipline infractions this semester which have led to ISS, OSS, DAEP or higher consequences.
- Student cannot owe a fine or fee at the time of finals.
- Students must have a semester average of an 80 and no more than 3 unexcused absences in the class.
Excused and Unexcused Absences:
- Excused absences for the purposes of exemptions include college visits, court appearances, religious holidays, medical absences excused with a doctor’s note (NOT a parent’s note), and school-related absences.
- For exemption purposes, three tardies to a class will equal one absence for that class.
- With prior approval from High School administration, Juniors and Seniors may take two college excused college days each school year.
- The following codes in Skyward represent unexcused absences for the purposes of exemptions:
N-EN, U-U, U-UP, U-UT, A

StuCo's Christmas Angel
The Christmas Angel was delighted with his gifts,
and Student Council was delighted with his "presence".
Here is his response (courtesy of Facebook "Elijah's Journey":
Elijah's Journey added 3 new photos.
Big THANK YOU to #WeatherfordHighSchool and its student counsel members and sponsors/teachers, including Elijah's cousin Avery and his aunt Alma. Elijah was picked as the schools Angel for this holiday season. He was very surprised and excited to get to go to the high school and open presents. It was very special and moving that they choose our family and put so much time and thought into making the kids holiday brighter. Thank you all.

Wrestling Results
Over the weekend as the First Order and the Resistance battled for the future of the Galaxy, a young team of Jedi trainees traveled by stealth into the evil sector of Eagle Mountain Saginaw to continue practicing their use of The Force at the EMS Tournament. The #1 ranked Camille Fournier (four-knee-ay) did what Camille does best. She pinned all her opponents and took 1st place. The Force is certainly strong in Camille.
Filling in for the injured, the young Padawans Sydney Baker and Ana Luna certainly made their presence known, channeling the Force to finish in the top 6 of their weight classes. #7 ranked Jessica Luna finished 3rd, and #9 ranked Sydney Fenus finished 3rd. Two more Freshmen Padawans had very impressive outings as Katilyn Green finished 2nd and up and coming Carissa Pratt finished 2nd. Carrissa defeated the #3 ranked 6A opponent in her weight class before losing in an epic struggle with another top 5 ranked girl.
Jedi Master Sanders was exceptionally pleased with the teams performance as they took 2nd in the tournament, with 3 starters out of the lineup. The girls will return to the Jedi Temple of NGC in preparation for an assault on the Dark Side Fortress of Cy Fair in Houston on January 5th and 6th.
