ALONZO TERRELL NAMED ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AT SWJH
ALONZO TERRELL NAMED ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AT SOUTHWEST JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Alonzo Terrell has been named the assistant principal at Southwest Junior High. He served as an instructional facilitator at Archer Learning Center and he replaces Jonathan Buchanan who has been named as Principal of JO Kelly Middle School.
“I am extremely honored and excited to serve the Southwest Junior High School community as an Assistant Principal. I am grateful to Dr. Cleveland, Mrs. Lindley, the Springdale School Board, and the District Leadership Team for this opportunity. I would also like to thank Dr. Davis and each and every member of the Archer Learning Center faculty with whom I have had the privilege to serve alongside for their guidance and support. I am looking forward to this upcoming year and cannot wait to start building relationships with Southwest’s students, families, and faculty.“ said Terrell.
Cissy Lindley, principal at Southwest Junior High said, “We are excited to have Mr. Terrell join our team. He will complement our efforts with his background in social-emotional learning and experience in supporting teachers. His understanding and appreciation for student diversity and understanding the challenges some of our students face will only help to strengthen our ability to support the students and families in our SWJH community.”
Dr. Jared Cleveland, Superintendent stated that “Mr. Terrell brings a unique set of skills that will support the ongoing work of the faculty and staff at Southwest Junior High. He is also an advocate for students and families and supports the whole child.”
Terrell has worked in the Springdale District for nine years. He was hired as an English teacher at Archer Learning Center in 2012. In 2018, he transitioned into the role of Instructional Facilitator at Archer. Terrell earned his Bachelor degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2005, Master Degree from the University of Arkansas in 2012 and earned his Educational Specialist Degree from Arkansas State University in 2020.
