Rice Middle School Summer Update
We are looking forward to the return of our #RiceRavens!
OUR MISSION
Rice Middle School is an accepting, nurturing, safe community where students are given the freedom to learn and grow as responsible individuals.
Welcome Back!
Construction Update
As of today, we are hopeful the main building will be ready for our New to Plano Student Registration, Schedule Orientation, and Raven Walkabout. We will definitely keep everyone posted about any possible changes.
As for the Fine Arts addition, let's all keep our fingers crossed and hope it's ready by August 12. I know all of our music teachers and Mrs. Petropoulos are eager to get moved in!
The beginning of the year is an exciting time, and can create a bit of anxiousness. Please join us in showing patience and support while we get things in place!
Administrative Changes
Please take the time to welcome Angie Ewing (469.752.6011; angie.ewing@pisd.edu) and Jordan Mullins (469.752.6020; jordan.mullins@pisd.edu) to the Rice Middle School front office. They are thrilled about this new journey and are looking forward to working with all of our #RiceRavens!
Dr. Ewing will be starting her 23rd year in education. She has taught grades 6-9 for 12 years, spent 3 years at the Education Service Center Region XIII, and 7 years consulting. She has been married for 19 years, and has 3 children. Angie loves middle school students and is excited to get to know each of you and work with our wonderful community. Angie brings in some great instructional knowledge which she is ready to share with our staff to help our students grow in the classroom.
Some of you may recognize Mr. Mullins. This will be his 11th year in education and his 8th year at Rice where he taught 8th grade science. He previously taught 7th grade math in Duncanville. His wife works for the district in the special education department and they both have two children. Jordan received his Masters of Education from the University of North Texas in 2018. He is excited about this new challenge and is ready to get to work with the community in a different capacity.
