STAAR Testing Information
Please look over the information below as following these guidelines will make STAAR testing go more smoothly for everyone involved.:
· Student attendance on testing days is vitally important. Please make every effort to be at school and to be on time.
· Please reschedule appointments that are slated for testing days.
· Cell phones are not allowed in testing rooms. Encourage your student to leave his/her phone at home or powered off in his/her locker on testing days.
· Smart Watches are not allowed in testing rooms. As with cell phones, please encourage your student to either leave them at home or in his/her locker.
· We encourage students to bring their lunch on STAAR testing days. Because this is a timed test which must be interrupted for students to eat, having a lunch from home simplifies the process.
· Student are encouraged to bring an individual snack and water bottle for testing.

MMS Choir Success at UIL
Congratulations to all of the Murphy Advanced Choirs and their successes at the UIL Concert and Sight-reading Competition that took place the week before Spring Break! Concert Women received Excellent ratings in Sight-reading and Superior ratings on Stage. The Combined Men, A cappella Women, and Select Women all received Sweepstakes trophies – receiving Superior ratings from every single one of their judges. We are so proud of the work of our students to prepare to such a high level of skill in performance! Congratulations to all!!
Upcycle Art Contest
Does your child like art? Do they care about the environment? Do they also love chewing gum? Encourage them to enter the Earth Day Upcycled Art Contest! They can create an eco-friendly art piece and submit it to Ms. McAnderson, in room E105 by Tuesday, April 16th. The winners of the contest will be announced on April 18 and will receive a trophy made of yummy gum packages!

Meet the candidates for PISD Board of Trustees and Collin College Board of Trustees on Tuesday, April 2, 6:30-8:30 pm, at the PISD Administration Board Room, 2700 W 15th St. This is hosted by the PISD Council of PTAs and the League of Women Voters of Collin County. MARIPOSA TRANSITION FAIR, MARCH 30TH
Understanding and navigating information to connect to the right person or resource to support your needs or those of someone in your family, can be a difficult and challenging experience.
Get help by attending this year's Mariposa Transition Fair scheduled for March 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Williams High School located at 1717 17th Street, Plano. Connect with experts, ask questions or simply take the first steps in planning for the future. This event is free and open to all age and families.
